Calgary Economic Development (CED) is a conduit, connector, catalyst, and storyteller for the city of Calgary. Promoting Calgary as the location of choice for people, investment and business.

CED recognizes that Creative Sector development has benefits that go far beyond economic impact and that Creative Economy projects & activities contribute to the overall livability of a city. As a result, CED’s Creative Industries team is working on a Creative Economy strategy & implementation plan for Calgary that will launch in 2024 and will advance over the next three to five years.

CED’s Calgary Film Commission is a full-service agency to the screen industries providing strategic support, access to financial incentives, scouts, locations, vendors and services. Committed to ongoing efforts towards industry collaboration, sustainable production practices and a focus on equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility. Calgary made MovieMaker’s list of Best Cities to Live and Work as a Moviemaker in 2023, rising two spots and placing 8th among the Top 25 cities in North America.
