Vacuum

Selected XR Development Market

Information

Vacuum is a non-narrative visual and sound virtual reality experience. Within a suspended space, players are invited to participate in a sound creation workshop. Three platforms, each with a different sound and light ambiance, determine the game space. On each platform, a heart, the center of the creature to be formed, and pieces of body, each affiliated with a sound that can be amplified, turned around, manipulated. The goal is to form one's own creature, with one or twelve of the proposed sound objects, to then release it towards the meeting with the other creatures already made. Each of these entities, once assembled, comes to nourish a polymorphic creature in constant evolution, thus archiving in the form of a common work all that has been realized since the launching of the experiment. Vacuum offers to interrogate the relationship to the body and virtuality through the manipulation of sound and the modification of living forms. The environment and the experimental forms, borrowed from dramatic atmospheres, put into perspective amorphous bodies created by the participant. There is an element of entertainment in the design of these grotesque and endearing creatures, counterbalanced by a destabilizing strangeness.
