Dealing with Difficult Patrons: Solutions for Library Staff at all Levels

The Worcester Public Library will present on dealing with difficult patrons, with solutions and tips for librarians of all levels. WPL Executive Director will contextualize and conduct a panel discussion of the Associate Director, one of the Public Services Supervisors, and the WPL's Security Compliance Officer framing the perspectives of administration, a professional librarian, and the library's security officer. By the end of the session, participants will walk away with actions items on how they might directly and positively impact the security of their respective library. In addition, all participants will gain an understanding on how patron behavior policies must be written with the DEI lens so that everyone is welcome at their public library.
