Quick Wins : Optimizing Programs for Community Engagement

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, libraries have adapted their programming to accommodate families’ changing needs and schedules. With more parents working from home and with fewer childcare options, youth service librarians are finding themselves balancing a greater demand for more programming with less staff time and fewer resources. During this session, participants will learn several strategies to create active and passive programs for kids ages eight and under that are easy to implement and promote investment in reusable programming materials. There will be an emphasis on moving from a high effort, low impact programming model to one that produces greater community engagement while remaining sustainable for staff.
