Information

Established on the 7th of December 1966 following the work and true to the philosophy of the French humanist Raoul Follereau (1903 – 1977), the Fondation Follereau Luxembourg is a cooperation and development NGO with more than 50 years of experience and was recognized as an «organization of public interest» in 1984. The Fondation Follereau is committed to improving and fostering quality of life for the most vulnerable African populations. Alongside its trusted partners, the FFL strengthens local, inclusive and positive initiatives to answer local needs for better healthcare, education, protection and emergency.

Since 1966, the FFL has expanded its field of action, beyond its initial cause: fighting leprosy. Over the years, the activities have extended to reinforcing local capabilities and infrastructures as well as raising awareness while focusing on one and unique area: the African continent.

  • Solidarity with the most vulnerable populations
  • Inclusion and sustainable contribution of all stakeholders
  • Empowerment of communities and beneficiary structures
  • Promotion of gender equality

The Fondation Follereau has become a reliable and solid player in Luxembourg within the cooperation and development field and has been working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, the foundation receives generous and regular support from private Luxembourgish donors as well as other sponsors, which shows its ability to establish and maintain long-term and stable relations with both donors and local partner-associations.
