Associate professor in Information and Communication Sciences at UPEM: University of Paris Est Marne-la-Vallée, and Co-founder of the Observatory of Digital Worlds in the Human Sciences, E. A. Amato works on avatars, body relations and immersion in video games and virtual reality, in interdisciplinary teams including neurophysiologists, designers, artists, psychologists.
Lecture : Virtual presence and virtual incarnation for health: what new frontiers for research ?Applied research attempts to take advantage of immersion and body relations with avatars. The care offers use the commitment and adaptability of the human being, with his great neuroplasticity, based on new dynamic behaviours. Current collaborations between life sciences and digital sciences are being set up, with very significant investments (Mindmaze, Hypno VR), based on multi-sensory integration capabilities, bio-feedback, and some bodily illusions, even on modified states of consciousness.
