Information

In response to strong interest in 2021-2023, we present the fourth version of our interactive student-centric BoF for students and anyone engaging with students (e.g., mentors and the industry). The session focuses on diverse pathways for aspiring HPC professionals, highlighting study programs, free resources, and essential training opportunities. A unique feature is a speed dating segment connecting young professionals with employment opportunities, which is designed to facilitate meaningful interactions and foster potential collaborations after the BoF. The BoF has three main objectives. Firstly, it aims to inspire and motivate participants with an interactive panel discussion. Panelists will be students from several different communities, and we will also encourage the audience to participate in the discussion. Secondly, to help participants create and foster their own network in the HPC community, providing support by offering relevant discussion topics on common themes and invitations to future HPC events with network-related social programmes. Thirdly, to provide a “one stop shop” for students to extend their HPC knowledge and increase employment opportunities by introducing them to Europe’s main HPC training programs. The outcomes of the BoF include greater engagement of students with European HPC training opportunities, the opportunity to feed back to the Digital Europe programme those issues impacting student engagement with HPC, and the establishment and maintenance of a focal point through which students can build and grow their HPC community.
