SCALAC, Advanced Computing System for Latin America and Caribbean, is a non profit entity registered in Costa Rica, whose purpose is the development of HPC in Latin America, promoting collaboration and partnership between institutions for development of research in HPC. One of the main activities is to organize the annual Carla HPC conference, another is to share Computing Resources, via RedClara, for Science Research Groups that need computing power for their experiments. Also different courses, tutorials and computing camps are organized for students to introduce to HPC and present advanced discussions on future developments in the area. In the panel we will present the principal activities of SCALAC and the perspectives of cooperation with other entities for the development of HPC.
