Information

We are closer than ever to ensuring that global food production catches up with the growing population, however, significant challenges still exist in many parts of the world. Climate change and conflict continue to act as headwinds in our fight against global food security. There is incredible work being done within the research community, government and non-profit organizations, and commercial entities on many aspects of food security, such as the ability to better predict crop yield so that interventions can be planned, ensuring resiliency in food supply chain, developing crops that are more tolerant to climate change, and simulating the downstream effects of trade policy changes and global conflicts. Access to high performance computing at scale, and the ability to combine that with advanced machine learning, is a catalyst in accelerating these efforts and deriving new insights. In this session, we will dive a bit deeper into the role HPC plays in analyzing, simulating, and predicting future state scenarios for Global Food Security.
