OpenACC User Experiences, Hackathons, Vendor Reaction, Relevance, and Roadmap

The OpenACC organization is dedicated to helping the research and developer community advance science by expanding their accelerated and parallel computing skills. It supports a well-established directive-based high-level parallel programming model designed to provide an easy on-ramp to accelerated, parallel computing on CPUs, GPUs and other devices. The organization also supports over 25 global advanced-training hackathons each year, and the user-friendly programming model has facilitated acceleration of over 200 applications including FV3, COSMO, ICON, GTS, M3D-C1, E3SM, ADSCFD, VASP on multiple platforms and has also seen as an entry-level programming model for the top supercomputers such as Perlmutter, Summit, Sunway TaihuLight, and Piz Daint. This BoF invites scientists, programmers and researchers to discuss their experiences in adopting OpenACC for scientific applications, learn about the roadmaps from implementers and the latest developments in the language specification.
