Supercomputing Trends: Fujitsu's Toshiyuki Shimizu in Conversation with Doug Black

Toshiyuki Shimizu, Fujitsu's Principal Engineer, Future Society and Technology Unit, talks with insideHPC's Doug Black about the past 12 months for Fujitsu the HPC community, since taking the industry by storm with its "Fugaku" Arm-based supercomputer, based at Japan's RIKEN research institution, was named to the no. 1 position on the TOP500 list of the world's most powerful supercomputers.

Among other topics, he discusses the unique challenges involved in building an Arm-based system at the power and scale of Fugaku as well as Fujitsu's other HPC initiatives over the past year.
