Abstract:
TEXA, an Italian SME founded in 1992, designs, produces and sells diagnostic instruments for cars, motor bikes, and other vehicles. This allows for services such as real-time monitoring of fleet vehicles.
TEXA 'black boxes' sensors are usually sold in collaboration with insurance companies to reduce fraud claims. The trove of data collected by the sensors however is a potential gold mine allowing the exploitation of additional valuable services, like the prediction of failures, mechanical problems or damage at the component level for manufacturers and fleet managers.
Four Cloud HPC-powered prototype services were developed during the experiment, providing the company all the data necessary to evaluate their marketability and potential ROI.
