Abstract:
Scientific service units often feel treated as simple utility services without receiving any scientific recognition. See for yourself by a number of examples that, when actively engaging in the scientific processes, it is quite the contrary. Experience shows that such units hosted between disciplines and centralized infrastructure providers can successfully build bridges and, thus, also actively advance the digitalization efforts currently ongoing in all institutions. Let yourself be inspired by the multiple models how computational science experts and research software engineers are set up in various institutions and how they are recognized for their work.
