Information
FENS – the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies – is the leading organisation for neuroscience in Europe and an international non-profit scientific association based in Brussels, Belgium. It was established in 1998 with the mission to advance and promote neuroscience research in Europe and beyond through global partnerships. It currently represents 42 member societies across 32 countries and unites over 22,000 scientists.
The organisation supports its members and pursues its mission through four key impact areas: fostering knowledge exchange, advancing neuroscience, empowering community, and investing in the future. These interconnected, mutually reinforcing areas drive FENS' efforts to unite scientists, share discoveries, and provide tools and resources that benefit both the scientific community and society.
With broad support for fundamental, translational, and clinical neuroscience, FENS promotes scientific discovery to deepen understanding of the brain and nervous system across all species, contexts, and conditions. It is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, diverse and globally connected research community with a long-term positive impact for all.
