Loughborough UniversityStand 6Why choose Loughborough? Loughborough University is a top 10 university in the Guardian League Table 2023 and the Complete University Guide 2024 and offers one of the best student experiences in the UK. The world-leading HFE research at Loughborough University is used by governments, clinical providers and educators leading to a systematic and profound change in occupational and patient safety practice.  Since 2000 our rigorous and robust outputs have influenced national and international standards as well as the commercial world for product design, building design. We take a Systems Approach to investigate and resolve challenges by: understanding what people can do individually, in teams and as part of larger systems and organisations focusing on dual outcomes of optimising system performance and improving human wellbeing.  Our methods are design-driven to support good performance and prevent poor outcomes rather than promoting safety by demanding behavioural modification of the people within the system, processes, equipment etc. Who are we? Loughborough University HFE Health and Social Care Hub is led by Dr Mike Fray, Prof Thomas Jun and Prof Sue Hignett with the support of an experienced Teaching Faculty from across healthcare. Loughborough University has been an international centre for Ergonomics and Human Factors for over 60 years. We have a world-leading reputation for research and teaching and are proud to have trained ergonomists and human factors specialists now working all over the world. We have recently been appointed as the partner for the delivery of levels 3&4 of the NHS England Patient Safety Syllabus as part of the ongoing Patient Safety Strategy in England.
