Support Dogs is national assistance dog charity dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children and adults affected by a wide range of challenging medical conditions.

For the past 30 years they have been training specialist assistance dogs across three main programme of support:

  • Epilepsy seizure alert dogs – providing a 100% reliable warning up to an 1 hour before all epileptic seizures a client may. Enabling them to find safety and privacy before a seizure.
  • Autism assistance dogs - keeping children with autism to be safe and enabling them to have more socially active and independent life. The dogs help to facilitate the childs develop while also providing a positive focus for the whole family.
  • Disability assistance dogs – providing 24/7 care and support for people with a wide range of physical disabilities from MS, Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia. The dogs act as their carers helping with a wide range of tasks such as fetching medication and picking up items, opening and closing doors, dressing and undressing and getting help in emergencies.

The charity is entirely funded by voluntary donations and estimated to save the NHS approximately £19 million a year.
