As healthcare systems accelerate towards digital-first models, we are rightly focused on efficiency, scale and accessibility. But an important question remains: are we unintentionally excluding the very people we aim to serve?

This facilitated lunchtime roundtable will explore whether digital-first approaches genuinely widen access or whether they risk deepening existing inequalities for certain communities, patients and staff.

Through open discussion and collaborative whiteboard exercises, participants will be invited to share real-world experiences, challenge assumptions, and identify where digital design, policy or delivery choices can create barriers. Together, we’ll explore what good digital inclusion looks like in practice from service design and data to skills, culture and leadership.

This is an interactive session for people shaping, influencing or delivering digital-first health and care services who want to move beyond theory and leave with practical insights, shared learning, and tangible ideas they can take back into their organisations.

By the end of this session, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of digital inclusion, insight into where digital-first approaches can unintentionally exclude, and practical questions and ideas they can apply immediately to their own digital strategies and programmes.
