The panel will feature experts from diverse healthcare advocacy sectors, each offering unique insights into their specific practices and payment models. The discussion will illuminate the different types of advocacy that exist, providing attendees with a broad understanding of how advocacy roles vary across industries and systems. After the individual presentations (10 minutes each), the panel will engage in a 30-minute Q&A, providing a chance for attendees to gain practical advice and ask questions about these different advocacy models.

Overarching Learning Objectives for the Panel Session:
1. Understand the Diversity of Advocacy Practices
o Gain a comprehensive overview of the various models of healthcare advocacy, including clinical trial advocacy, international advocacy, community-based advocacy, advocacy focused on health literacy, and insurance-related advocacy.
2. Evaluate the Different Payment Models in Advocacy
o Explore how advocacy practices are funded across different sectors, including salary-based, fee-for-service, grant-funded, and insurance reimbursements, and the ethical considerations related to each model.
3. Identify Key Challenges and Opportunities in Healthcare Advocacy
o Recognize the common challenges faced by healthcare advocates, such as navigating complex healthcare systems, patient access to care, and ensuring equitable treatment, as well as the opportunities for advocacy to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
4. Assess the Role of Advocacy Across Various Healthcare Settings
o Compare how advocacy roles differ between various healthcare environments (e.g., community health, hospitals, pharmaceutical access, insurance) and how each contributes to the larger healthcare system.
5. Apply Best Practices and Learnings to Improve Advocacy Efforts
o Understand strategies for building effective advocacy practices in both independent and institutional settings, and discuss key lessons learned from panelists' experiences to enhance your own advocacy approach.
