Information

In documentary making, networking is the most crucial element for success. Worldwide networking enables filmmakers to find editorial and financial partners and to understand better the needs and issues of the others. When three important documentary associations ally it becomes a powerful tool for all professionals. From three continents, Africa, America, Europe, DocA, IDA and DAE are working for the sake of their members.

IDA - Dedicated to the vision of a world where documentary creators flourish. Through our work, we connect audiences with the best of the form, provide resources, create community, and defend the rights and freedoms of documentary artists, activists and journalists around the globe.

DocA is a unique Pan-African initiative that aims to cultivate and nourish a self-sustaining documentary film ecosystem in Africa. We aim at supporting the African documentary film industry through interconnected initiatives in storytelling development and content creation. Our focus is to enable African documentary film makers tell African narratives through the African lens.

DAE acts and advocates for everyone working in documentary storytelling professions inside and outside of Europe. Our members come from all over the world. We don’t mind where you live or what passports you carry. DAE members pitch in European markets, participate in training initiatives, co-produce with European partners, show films at European festivals, attend European film schools or produce work intended for European audiences.
