Esprit

Created by Susie Russell and her husband Douglas Tompkins, Esprit was born in 1968. Initially sold in the back of a van on the streets of San Francisco, the future brand "Esprit de Corp" would experience a real turning point in 1971. Indeed, it was at this time that the couple, supported by the help of Japanese businessman Michael Ying, exported their very "peace and love" brand internationally. From this collaboration, "Esprit Far East Group", a Japanese subsidiary based in Hong Kong, was born.
