The National Fraud Initiative (NFI) is the UK Government’s counter-fraud programme. Managed by the Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA), this data-matching exercise helps both public and private sector organisations identify, recover, and prevent fraud. Since 1996, it has assisted in saving over £2.9bn, allowing these funds to be diverted back into essential front-line services.
The NFI provides flexible online tools—from real-time point-of-application checks to biennial batch matching and legislatively-compliant bespoke exercises. Supported by our delivery partner, Synectics Solutions, these solutions identify anomalies across datasets, enabling organisations to investigate and resolve fraud or overpayments through effective recovery plans.
