Enhancing Traffic Flow for SNCF with Digital Twin Technology

Enhancing Traffic Flow for SNCF with Digital Twin Technology

AI Projects

Information

SNCF (french trains) faced congestion challenges on a key rail segment in the Paris region and sought to assess the viability of introducing linear motor trains to alleviate this bottleneck. Piwwop developed a digital twin of the rail segment and a physical model of the linear motor trains to evaluate traffic capacity and economic impact. The simulations showed that adopting linear motor trains could significantly boost traffic capacity while reducing delays. Although initial infrastructure investments were required, the long-term benefits of increased efficiency and reduced congestion provided SNCF with a clear modernization strategy.
