Information

School safety is not simply a compliance task–it is a leadership opportunity with the power to shape school culture and drive academic excellence. This session explores how assistant principals can lead safety-focused systems that improve student outcomes, reduce disruptions, and align with federal funding priorities under ESEA, including Titles I, II, and IV. Attendees will examine real-world examples from a successful school, where I led and implemented effective safety plans, built student and staff trust, and created environments where learning thrives. Through a blend of research, practical strategies, and personal leadership experience, this session provides a blueprint for using safety as a strategic lever–not a siloed responsibility. Attendees will leave with tools to build proactive systems that support the physical, psychological and cyber safety of every student while driving a culture of academic excellence.
