Whoosh’s Real-Time Journey Dashboard transforms how real-time communication is enhanced at all stages of a train journey. This is further improved by hospitality technology firm Ordamo’s at-seat catering ordering technology.
The Real-Time Journey Dashboard is accessed by passengers scanning a unique QR code at their seat. Users can then access a platform packed with journey-improving features including real-time updates, destination information, instant communication with the operator and Ordamo’s at-seat catering. This additional benefit thanks to the Real-Time Journey Dashboard’s open API means that ‘first class’ service can be brought to everyday rail journeys, the new contact-free innovation allows customers to choose, order and pay for their items without having to move about the carriage or visit a dining car. This is known to solve travel anxieties whether that be a concern of leaving luggage at your seat, being Covid-secure or regarding accessibility.
Ordamo’s contactless payment methods have been shown to increase the sales of food and drink, positively impacting operators’ bottom line. Additionally, the tech produces useful analytics providing an operator with useful information, for instance their most popular beverage, or the journey with the most food orders. Subsequently, since launching, this technology has been scanned more than 44,389 times on Grand Central trains alone. Moreover, 86,000 pages have been visited with the technology being instantly adopted by passengers.
