ORF

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) is Austria’s largest media provider, operating four national television and 12 radio channels, as well as a comprehensive range of websites. As a public service radio and television company, ORF invests all revenue—half from radio and TV licence fees, the rest from advertising and other income—directly into the programs and services it provides to its audiences. The ORF’s headquarters and main studios are in Vienna, with regional TV and radio studios in all nine federal provinces and a worldwide network of correspondents working in all three media. ORF produces a full range of media content, including the world-famous New Year’s Concert and the Eurovision Song Contest hosted in Austria. A particular strength of ORF factual TV output is ORF2’s UNIVERSUM strand, originating award-winning blue chip natural history and history films co-produced with major broadcast partners on three continents.
