SILBERSALZThe SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival (15-19 June 2022, Halle(Saale), Germany) aims to make science accessible by bringing science and media professionals in direct touch with the public for a lively and active engagement with science. Annually organized, the international 5-day festival SILBERSALZ showcases films, art installations, live performances, public talks and science engagement activities, standing at the crossing of science, cinema and arts. The Festival aims to create a bridge between science and society, by bringing scientists, academics and thinkers in direct touch with the public and media experts for an open discussion and ideas exchange on scientific, technological and globally relevant topics. It also sets out to reach young audiences - whom are not regularly in touch with science - by providing innovative, interactive and easy-to-access offers; not only during the festival, but also all-year-round activities to sustainably engage young people (e.g. do it yourself-workshops encouraging self-exploration and creativity, as well as films and special events designed for youth). The SILBERSALZ Industry Conference sets out to become an important meeting point, nationally and internationally, for both scientists and media experts where they could have a direct contact, learning and networking opportunities to improve science communication. It also aims to open new exploration areas where scientists and storytellers can creatively collaborate in the future for science programming that fascinates global audiences.
