Leslea Mair is a writer, director and producer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With a background in theatre and experimental film, Leslea applied her love of a good true story to writing and producing documentaries. She has written and produced and directed award-winning documentaries in the genres of science, current affairs, social/political issues, and POV and feature documentary with subjects as diverse as Shaolin monks, killer robots, preachers who don’t believe in god and the effects of human activity on the environment. On a lighter note, she has also produced three seasons of lifestyle television on The Prairie Diner, a celebration of food and culture on the Canadian prairies, and recently a science fiction web series, Nikola Tesla and the End of the World. Leslea has been the President and CEO of Zoot Pictures Inc. since 1998. Over the past twenty years, she has worked with a wide variety of Canadian broadcasters and has been successful in having Zoot Pictures’ content distributed internationally.
