Information
The World Federation of Science Journalists is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, representing 66 science journalists’ associations and 10,000 individual science and technology journalists from around the world. We encourage a strong, critical coverage of issues in science and technology, the environment, health and medicine, agriculture, and related fields.
The WFSJ seeks to:
- Advance science journalism as a bridge between science, scientists, and the public.
- Promote the role of science journalists as key players in civil society and democracy.
- Improve the quality of science reporting, promote standards, and support science and technology journalists worldwide.
WFSJ members are national, regional, and international associations that represent science journalists, broadcasters, writers, editors, and communicators working across all media platforms.
The World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) is one of the main activities of the WFSJ. The next event will take place in Medellín, Columbia, in 2022, and it will gather more than 1,000 journalists covering science, technology, and health, as well as international experts, scientists, and communicators, among others. The WCSJ offers a wide variety of programmes that aim to expand the horizons of participants from different backgrounds through lively discussions and workshops.
