With around 480 baggage customers, SITA leads the industry in baggage management, processing billions of bags around the world with self-service solutions that offer passengers a touchless experience, globally. In the new normal, to help address the health and safety concern of passengers, SITA services enable passengers to receive personal notifications advising bag arrival location and times, to help avoid clustering in the baggage arrivals hall. SITA gives passengers the ability to use their own mobile devices across the journey, where ‘your mobile is your remote control for travel’. Whether on or off airport, passengers can interact with shared infrastructure without needing to touch physical equipment, such as bag drop. This can also include bag-tag printers, for touchless bag tagging, for example. SITA WorldTracer® for lost bag reporting provides the ability to track a mishandled bag – using a mobile device – from its destination airport to delivery to the passenger’s hotel or home. WorldTracer® is in use with over 500 customers at some 2,800 airports globally. It repatriates nearly 60% of mishandled bags in just in 1.6 days. At SITA we are helping airlines and airports meet IATA’s bag tracking requirements. From check-in to arrival, SITA’s BagJourney provides ability to track a bag’s precise location is invaluable in helping airlines, airports and ground handlers with IATA Resolution 753 compliance.
