LEO - Low Earth Orbit Connectivity Solution
IFEC
Information
As an extension to AirFi’s award-winning inflight engagement platform, AirFi LEO is an In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) solution that delivers an enhanced passenger and crew experience.
Connectivity is provided over the Iridium L-Band Satellite Network via 2 Iridium Certus "puck" antennas mounted on the inside of the window, and connected to the latest generation AirFi Mars box.
The ultra low CAPEX, limited ground time of the aircraft and fast installation almost make the solution hard to believe. The solution however fits perfectly within the tradition of the AirFi solution stack as an alternative to the CAPEX consuming roof-top antenna solutions.
AirFi LEO uses “off the shelf”, proven technology, comes with all the required service bulletins and approvals for all AC types, bringing the time to market to a minimum.
AirFi LEO Use-Cases:
- Operational communication from ground to flight crew and back
- ACARS substitute
- Inflight passenger messaging
- Real-time payment verification and transaction processing
- Air-to-Ground Bookings and Orders
- Real-time news, sports & weather updates
