Information

PEFC is an international non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to  promoting Sustainable Forest Management through independent third-party certification. With over 330 million hectares of certified forests in 49 countries, PEFC is the world’s largest forest certification system.

Timber from PEFC-certified forests is now a key element in many building projects from structural applications such as timber frame, engineered woods such as Glulam, Cross Laminated Timber, Laminated Veneer lumber and Structural Insulated Panels to components such as engineered floor cassettes, trusses, staircases, windows and door sets, plywood, MDF, skirting, OSB, decking and cladding plus a wide range of sawn timber.

PEFC-certified timber offers the widest choice of sustainable timber available to the construction sector, including Western Red Cedar, European Larch, Douglas Fir, European Redwood, Beech, Cherry, European Oak, American White Oak, American White Ash, Finnish Spruce and Birch.  Almost 20,000 companies have obtained PEFC chain of custody certification, offering tens of thousands PEFC-certified products globally.
