The purpose of the works was to enhance the customer experience for commuters. Volkerfitzparick, Network Rail and Crossrail wanted to reduce costs, streamline the onboarding process for new starters on-site and move towards a fully digital construction site. Prior to implementing the innDex solution, it took on average 5 hours for someone to complete their site induction. innDex installed our facial recognition access control system on-site. This connects to the innDex platform. Everyone enrolled on the innDex platform and approved by the site team accesses the site and clocks in and out using facial recognition. This means that the site management has a real-time digital record of everyone on-site at any given time. The innDex facial recognition system was implemented on-site before the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of installing the facial recognition units back then was to remove card readers and provide a more accurate record of who was on-site and when. The site team is now benefiting from non-contact access control. In addition to providing solutions for the customer’s initial needs innDex meets with the VolkerFitzpatrick site team every month to gather feedback and identify inefficiencies that can be solved through digitisation and automation. The innDex platform significantly reduces costs by eliminating paperwork, automating competency verification and removing the need for manned site access. To date the project team have saved £2600 every week. By implementing completely digital processes, combined with facial recognition access control. The commercial team has significantly more transparency about working hours. Record keeping and real time cloud access to all information collected allows the project team to continue working efficiently anywhere.
