Information

In Europe, the rollout of small cells is largely going to require the usage of existing street infrastructure such as lampposts, cabinets, bus stations and other structures. Securing access to such sites and ensuring adequate power and fibre connectivity is one key challenge the future owners of small cell networks face; another is finding ways to improve site economics.

This roundtable will explore:

  • Forecasts for small cell rollout across Europe: volumes and timeframes
  • Recommendations for easing site access and permitting on a European, national and local level
  • Partnerships and contract structures to access urban infrastructure
  • Lighting, advertising, CCTV, IoT: what additional services should towercos play a role in and what does the business model look like?
  • How small cell technology solutions need to evolve to meet the needs of neutral hosts
