Keynote: Judaism + Technology: How the people of the book can avoid becoming the people of Zoom

The pandemic presented a paradox: many of our synagogues got higher attendance when people stayed at home—on Zoom—than when they could freely come to shul. Many of them also found their Judaism on podcasts, including the speaker’s. The way forward will require tough decisions about when to embrace innovation, and when to stick to tradition. In other words, the current moment was perfectly tailored for Conservative Judaism.
