A close read and listen of several contemporary Israeli songs to meet this moment in Jewish history. We will listen to a song together, engage in Hevruta-style text study of the lyrics in Hebrew and English, then listen again to the song together, bearing witness to our emotions and thoughts as we allow the words and music to affect us. The process of engrossing in these texts and music can provide a container for the many intense and complex emotions of this time and an outlet to express them. Participants will receive continued access to these songs through a curated Spotify playlist.
