Information

The Regional Council represents the Tuscan community, it is the legislative body, and keeps watch on the political trend, the programme of the Region and its realization.

The Regional Council of Tuscany is made up by 40 councillors elected, coming from the 10 Provinces of the regional land.

The Assembly periodically meets in Palazzo del Pegaso, via Cavour 2 in the heart of Florence, which is the official seat of the Regional Council.

The members of the Assembly are organised in Groups according to their political belonging.

There are many initiatives and events organized by the Regional Council that propose themes and values linked to the Tuscan identity such as the Festa della Toscana that takes place on November 30th. In this day the regional Council of Tuscany meets solemnly in a prestigious institutional seat, with the aim to remind the abolition of the death penalty in Tuscany on November 30th 1786 for the first time in the whole world.

The Pegaso Palace also hosts many daily appointments such as conventions, meetings and exhibitions and houses a rich collection of artworks donated by the authors who have exhibited. The Regional Council has also acquired important collections including the Mario Luzi Fund and the Fallaci Fund.
