Workshop: Microreactors and Mine Decarbonization

Micro-SMRs represent a technological innovation to replace diesel and move to low-carbon heat and power solutions for mines and remote communities. In Canada, NRCan has developed an SMR roadmap to help these systems reach commercialization. This roundtable will provide miners with an overview of key developments in micro-SMRs and address key questions about the technology’s commercialization, cost, demonstration sites, safety, and public confidence.
