From modest beginnings retrofitting farm tractors out of an apple orchard barn in Southern Georgian Bay, Ontario, to today’s multi-national corporate network of some 1,000 employees across four continents and six countries, the next chapters of the MacLean mining innovation story are actively being written within the broad themes of the electrification, automation, and digitalization of the global industry.

MacLean is proud to offer a wide range of underground mining equipment with four major product lines: Utility Vehicles, Ore Flow, Bolters and Shotcrete.

The foundation for all of our work together is a shared culture of entrepreneurial innovation and customer focus. When we create what we call MacLean ‘Application Intelligence’ for the mining sector, we are leveraging multi-disciplinary engineering expertise, continental manufacturing capacity, and decades of mining knowledge, to deliver safety and productivity enhancing solutions to the end-users who operate and maintain our products in underground mines around the globe.

MacLean has been in the underground mining vehicle business for over 50 years and as a manufacturer we have almost a decade under our belts with our full-fleet electrification program and half a million operating hours logged. Now MacLean is turning its sights to surface mining operations with the launch of the GR8 Open Pit Grader. The ‘first 50’ saw MacLean shape the underground mining industry in the name of increased safety and productivity. Now the next 50 will be shaped by our deep commitment to supporting the decarbonization of the mining industry around the globe, both above and below surface.
