Moon Chase, Bridge Reader

Bridging the gap between learning to read and reading to learn, Moon Chase, Bridge Reader, is the first of Cathy's fantasy adventures specifically created for weaker readers. It is a fast-paced medieval adventure with huge dogs, based on Cathy's Irish Wolfhounds, wraithe wolves, heroes and villains. The hounds and the strong female characters keep the girls interested - the boys like the fights! It is also very much gender neutral, which a lot of schools particularly like. This is a proper story - just told in a language that is accessible to those still working on their reading with illustrations to scaffold the story. There is also a moral dilemma, which makes it a great book for PSE and SEAL.
