I CAN

I CAN is the leading children’s communication charity in the UK.  

Language is the fundamental life skill, essential for all learning, for making friends and for life. But nearly one and a half million children have severe communication difficulties, and in some areas over half of children start school with delayed language. Often unidentified, and therefore with no support, children with communication difficulties will find life hard. 

I CAN runs two special schools for those children with the most severe communication difficulties; and our training, information and programmes reach many more children and families across the UK. With our support, children with communication difficulties of all ages learn, achieve, make friends, enjoy life and go on to make a successful, independent transition into adulthood.
