Italia Music Export-SIAE’s aim is to promote Italian music worldwide, to boost music export revenues and to support Italian music companies going global. Italia Music Export-SIAE is a service and resource center for exporters of Italian music, but it also gives advice and assistance to international professionals interested in working with Italian artists and companies. Using the most modern multi-channel promotion and communication tools, it acts to assert the excellence of Made in Italy in the world. ITA promotes the Italian music and recording industry in close co-operation with F.I.M.I (Federation of Italian Music Industry) and IME- SIAE(Italian Music Export Office). ITA’s Annual Promotional Plan for the sector includes a number of specific activities for the Industry, raging from: participation in the main international fairs (for 2021 the digital edition of MIDEM-France, SIM SAN PAULO- Brazil, CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK-Canada) and visits of foreign delegation of professionals to the most representative Italian trade fairs, such as LINECHECK MUSIC MEETING & FESTIVAL-Milano In 2019 the Italian music market recorded + 8% and € 247 million euro in turnover for the sector (source I.F.P.I.), this is the highest growth in the last 5 years. In accordance to the world trends the streaming drives the growth, accounting for 63% of total revenues, 26% is from the physical supports segment, 6% is for digital and download, 5% is for synchronization. Although the most popular Italian singers in USA (such as Bocelli, Il Volo, Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti), belongs to a former melodic tradition, strengthened thanks to world tours and use of music in advertising, movies and TV series, on the other hand the most popular artists on the domestic market of young consumers are Marracash, Ghali, Mahmood, Achille Lauro, Ernia, Ultimo, Salmo, Rocco Hunt, representatives of Rap, Rock, Hip Hop, Trap culture, trends spread globally nowadays.
