WASH Innovators Spotlight
Information
The water and sanitation infrastructure in India is under strain because of population growth and rapid urbanization; only a fraction of urban households have access to clean, piped drinking water and more than half the households in rural and urban areas have no access to any kind of sanitation facility. The demand for clean water and sanitation services is expected to increase in the future and significant investments and interventions are necessary to meet these needs.
The recent growth in capital available to SEs indicates that the market is far from saturated. The number of SEs seeking capital at various stages of development is also increasing at a rapid pace. However, very few successful business models have scaled enough to attract large amounts of equity capital in the water and sanitation sector. This roundtable session will showcase promising innovations in WASH, allowing innovators to share their insights on challenges they face in their scope of work.
