Information
BSL and their principle staff have been at the forefront of innovations within commercial environmental sciences over the past 30 years and have been responsible for many of techniques, strategies and some of the equipment routinely used in the industry today worldwide. Notable examples include automatic benthic processing systems, a multitude of ROV operated sampling tools, all sorts of cameras including those for operating in very poor water clarity, or to operate autonomously or through a multiplexer in ultra deep water.
BSL,along with their partners in the group (Subacoustech Environmental and Applied Genomics Limited) continue these innovations in underwater acoustics and using environmental DNA for the ever increasing need for accurate but cost-effective biodiversity assessments in all habitat types and water depths.
BSL's commitment to research and development has been further boosted by the building of a new Science Park, in Hoveton, Norfolk and interest in providing support to start-ups and new innovative companies through these facilities along with our experience within the marine sector.
