The Ogden Trust

The Coastal Energy Internships programme provides bursaries for sixth form students to undertake a 20-day placement with a local energy company in the summer between Year 12 and 13.

The scheme aims to provide high quality opportunities for young people to gain a deep understanding of what jobs are available in the energy industry, as well as providing the students with a placement that utilises and enhances their STEM skills in a business environment.

As a result of Covid-19, in 2020 we supported three projects prepared by Scottish Power, Vattenfall and James Fisher Marine Services https://www.ogdentrust.com/grants-funding/energy-internships. These projects will be available for students to work on during 2021 if they wish, providing an opportunity to add a meaningful industry experience to their CV.
