Information
Matica Secure Protected Image (MSPI™) adds a grayscale photo ID engraved into the card body behind the color photo ID. This extends the lifespan of the card in case the color ID photo is damaged over time and prevents anyone from altering or manipulating the photo ID.
How does MSPI™ work? The cardholder’s photo is separated into two distinct components: color and greyscale. The photo ID is first color printed (direct-to-card or retransfer technology). The greyscale component is securely engraved into the card body afterwards, behind the color photo ID. The laser greyscale image remains unchangeable in the face of criminal counterfeiters who may try to remove or modify the color layer of the photo. As the greyscale image is actually laser engraved, any attempt at modifying the color images becomes evident because the greyscale part of the image won’t match with the color layer.
