Information
Whelk is sustainably harvested by our own fishing vessels and delivered fresh to our processing facility in Iceland. After rinsing and grading, the whelk is cooked in shell, IQF-frozen and glazed before packing.
Average weight per individual whelk varies with size class.
XL: 70-90g per whelk in 12 kg
L: 50-70g per whelk in 12 kg
M: 30-50g per whelk in 12 kg
S: 14-30g per whelk in 12 kg
For France we also grade: 14-43g (25-70 pieces per kg).
