Institute of Women & Ethnic Studies

Founded in 1993, the Institute of Women & Ethnic Studies (IWES) is a national non-profit public health organization based in New Orleans, LA. IWES works with communities, schools, individuals and organizations to provide tailored health and wellness services that addresses gaps in available health options and access to optimal health. IWES combines advocacy, health education, training, participatory research and direct services to improve wellness in local communities to pursue our mission of improving the mental, physical and spiritual health and quality of life for women, their families and communities of color, particularly among marginalized populations.
