This comprehensive platform offers precise bin location tracking, real-time fill level monitoring, efficient pickup scheduling, instant notifications, and seamless integration with various sensors. This innovation improves waste management with its "in bin" intelligence. The wAIste sensor, a cellular-based duo sensor, integrates ultrasonic sensors and a camera for accurate fill-level data, visual insights, and notifications, even in challenging conditions. Cutting-edge AI models optimize waste reduction, enhancing route planning and pickup scheduling efficiency. Over 2900 sensors deployed have generated a dataset of 8 million images and 28 billion data points, including GPS coordinates, temperature, fill levels, pickups, and more. This technology employs a data-centric machine learning approach. The technology has allowed the detection of plastic contaminants in cardboard and organic waste bins, identification of dirty camera lenses, camera-driven fill level estimations, and simulations that provide insights into the impact of diverse service schedules on average fill levels and bin overflows.
