Within the Shift2Rail innovation program, Indra is developing an Intelligent Video Gate to automate the recognition of relevant data from load units and wagons, such as wagon number, ILU-code, hazardous goods and waste labels, using computer vision and RFID-readers for tagged wagons. The system can replace manual activities of identification at intermodal terminals, which accelerates and improves the data quality and reliability of the inbound processes, reduces dwell times and increases punctuality as well as terminal capacity.
