Information
Founded by Edward Leslie (Les) and Mabel Dixon in 1955, Dixon Batteries produced its first batteries in a small shop in Leslie Street, Vereeniging.
Having retained that city as its manufacturing base, the company is today housed in a modern factory based on Johannesburg Road, and with Richard Dixon and his son Russell have taken over the reins, this third-generation company has grown to become a leading South African brand in the manufacture, distribution and recycling of lead-acid batteries for automotive, motorcycle, golf-cart and renewable energy storage applications.
